Child Growth Timeline of 2 to 3 Month

At 3 months, maximum babies can pick up their head while lying on their stomach.

  • Growth level is still important, but not as quick as in the first 2 months
  • Later soft spot closes

 Action and Movement
  • Gets up head (45°) for a continued time while lying on stomach.
  • Nonstop pause on raising head while forced to sitting point from lying on back.
  • Hands fisted half of the time.
  • Will keep an eye on stuffs, deliberately turn head 180°.
  • Smiles willingly ("social smile") in reaction to correct inputs (acquainted faces or voices)
  • Identifies facial terms
  • Baby Cries almost three hours a day
  • Clucks, creates single-syllable sounds
